CNC Entry Registrations

Guidelines

There is a limit of FIVE entries in the same section-division combination.  All work must have been completed within two years of the show date and must be the work of the artist.  By registering a piece for the competition, the artist is certifying that it is his or her work and was completed within the two years prior to the show.

Woodworkers are to choose the skill level that best represents their ability.

 

Skill Levels

 

Youth:   Youth under 16 years of age.

 

Beginner:   No more than two years experience in woodworking and/or has never entered a completion before.

 

Intermediate:   Two or more years experience in woodworking and/or have won a previous novice completion and/or are over 16 years of age.

Considers themselves a hobbyist woodworker.

 

Advanced:   Professional Artisan or Manufacturer of your particular Artwork. If you sell your art work this is your skill level.

 

AWARDS

 

-Ribbons will be awarded based on design, quality of execution and finish.

-Depending on the amount of entries 1st , 2nd, 3rd and HM will be awarded in each category. 

-Ribbons will be awarded if only one entry is entered at the discretion of the judge.

-Best of CNC ribbons will be awarded in each skill level

-Overall Best of Show CNC ribbons (1st, 2nd & 3rd) can be awarded.

*The Phil Nelson memorial award will be voted on by CNC group members.  The award will be made by last years winner.  This years winner will not be eligible for next years award

Item Entry

Choose the Division and indicate your skill level. Choose your skill level that best represents your ability. All entrants must use the same skill level in all entries. of each piece and finally provide a description. You need to fill out a form for each entry.


Anything Primarily made on a CNC device with little to no other woodworking utilized, in other words, if it is all done with a CNC with only minor assembly and finish done by the Artist. This does NOT include things like table tops, where the rest of the project is not done on a CNC.

Note:  Principal materials must be wood but any additive materials are acceptable.**LIMIT TO TWO ENTRIES PER DIVISION IN EACH CATEGORY

Entry Piece

DIVISION 1 - Design 2D: The maker has designed, created drawings, produced tool paths and finished the project. No purchased or other maker’s components were used.
DIVISION 2 - Combined 2D Design: The maker has modified, combined or incorporated another maker’s patterns or designs.
DIVISION 3 - Design 3D: The maker has designed, created models & drawings, produced tool paths and finished the project. No purchased or other maker’s components were used.
DIVISION 4 - Combined 3D Design: The maker has modified, combined or incorporated another maker’s patterns or designs.
DIVISION 5 - Inlay: The maker has produced tool paths utilizing piece(s) of wood, plastic, mother of pearl or epoxy to produce an inlay in wood.
DIVISION 6 - 4th axis or 2 sided: The maker has produced tool paths and finished a 2 sided or 4th axis design.
DIVISION 7 - Slicing: The maker has produced tool paths using software to produce sections that fit together to form a 3D object
DIVISION 8 -CNC Innovation/Mechanical Project: The maker has produced tool paths and finished the project using innovative CNC and/or created a kinetic sculptures
DIVISION 9 - Laser Project: Maker has a laser to produce a pattern or design

Youth (16 & under)

All pieces are entered into the show free when done before deadline or a $10 fee will be charged at check-in. All artisans will be required to purchase a ticket to enter the show at $5/person/day to help cover the costs of putting on the show.
